HAPPY MONDAY EARLY BIRD RELEASES AND HAPPY END OF SEPTEMBER EVERYONE!! It’s officially the holiday season and we’re heading right into one of the very BEST celebrations… HALLOWEEN!! YAY US!!
Three things:
1.) We just went through yet another hurricane but came out unscathed (well, my home and family did) but many of our friends and their family members did not. Horrific flooding destroyed so much (homes, cars, and everything in between) fires everywhere and total devastation everywhere now that we can see everything again. We were deeply in love with Anna Maria Island (just about 20 minutes away from my house), and so fortunate to live near it, and to be able to walk the beach and enjoy beach life whenever we wanted, even if we didn’t LIVE on the beach, and we took it for granted because, as of right now, it’s gone.
2.) Waterfront living was my dream one day, quite literally what I was working towards, but no longer. A beautiful dream, it was, but it’s gone. It will all be rebuilt again, I know it, but I won’t be able live it after seeing this devastation. And I’m horrified at all I’ve seen, devastation-wise, in North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia (as bad, and worse as what we’ve seen here). Terrifying and utterly shocking.
3.) On another note, my love for all things coastal and breezy beach is still alive, and, a couple of weeks ago, I got this adorable mason jar with twine rope that’s a perfect add-on to my “nautical theme”. I’m thrilled with it, ’cause I loaded it up in fairy lights and hooked a CUTE little wooden crab on the outside of it. P.S. Here’s a 2-pack of these mason jars. I’m tempted to get a second one.
