HAPPY MONDAY & THE START OF A NEW WEEK!! I’ve had a fulfilling week and weekend. I didn’t get “as much” done by way or organizing and preparing things, this weekend (I guess “organizing” has become a new hobby because I love doing it – I always feels so accomplished and relaxed when I’ve set things in order), but I did make a list of everything I need to organize in the upcoming weeks, so I guess I organized by way of list-making. 🙂
That said, I enjoyed a weekend of relaxing (reading) and “eventing”. In fact:
Three things:
1.) I went to an AMAZING concert yesterday (made a day of the event since we had to drive about 45 minutes to an hour away, eat, and get there early enough to get in line for t-shirts (and boy did we have a bunch of them to buy). Even as early as we got there, the lines were HUGE and a ton of sizes were gone for some of the designs we wanted, so it was a mad-grab of this one and that one and that one in these sizes. Any shirt was better than no shirt. So I got my Pantera one (LOVE how subtly bad-ass it is) and an old-school looking Metallica one. Alas, there were no Suicidal Tendencies shirts so I’m bummed but I’ll just have to see if there are any online so I can get my trio. 🙂
2.) The concert was AWESOME and I took some happy and fun pics. Lots of great memories of a great Sunday and while it was an expensive day, sometimes you just gotta take a chance on something that you might not ever get to do or see again. Pantera was my absolute favorite but they are one of my all-time favorite bands and I’ve already seen them 3 other times, so this was pure nostalgia for me. Phil Anselmo always makes the crowd feel welcome, and like he LOVES being there with us. His lyrics might sound angry but he’s pretty funny in his sarcastic way. Started one song by saying “…whenever someone tells him they haven’t heard of Pantera, or don’t know them…” he said all he has to do is remind them of a certain “guitar riff” and suddenly they go oh yeah I know that song!!” P.S. That song is “Walk” (<— sidenote… GASP!! People don’t know who Pantera IS??!! *thud* I totally fainted.) Suicidal was fun, but it was a short stint. Then of course, Metallica was in full steam mode with a gorgeous light show and stories and images playing on big screens, behind their songs.
