Elsa is looking for this one! Oh this definitely sounds like something that we would have devoured from our original indie days!
She asks:
Hi Maryse,
I just stumbled upon your blog, and it’s interesting to see a section where we can ask questions and work together to solve them.
I read this book quite a while ago (before COVID, I think, or even longer). It takes place in a university or college setting and is part of a series. The female lead is nearly sexually assaulted, but the male lead successfully saves her. Because of this, the female lead isn’t afraid of him, even though she is traumatized by other people.
There’s a specific scene where the male lead leaves the female lead, who is sleeping, to play chess with his grandpa. When she wakes up and doesn’t find him, she becomes afraid and locks herself in the bathroom. He later comes back and breaks the door down because she refuses to let anyone in.
They are childhood friends, and their parents attended the same university and are wealthy. The parents also have their own series (from when they were young).
Could you and your reader to help me to find this book?
Thank youElsa
Anyone have a guess?
