I am looking for a book I read several years ago.

I don’t have a lot of details but The main guy was a rancher but also head of an organization (like mafia type). The main female was married but the husband was in trouble with the main guy. The main guy ended up taking the wife once he found out she was being abused.

She ends up being an author that writes a story about her past.

This is part of a series.
