Happy Saturday! Here’s what the SBTB crew has been reading lately:
Shana: I just finished A Little Kissing Between Friends by Chencia C Higgins. ( A | BN | K ) It perfectly captured the sapphic need to talk about your newly discovered infatuation with absolutely everyone in your life before you tell the girl you like her. Annoying? Yes. Eerily accurate? Also yes.
Sarah: I am not quite back at reading capacity but pre COVID I read Love of my Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood ( A | BN | K | AB ) in one day. It is charming and funny and in on all the jokes and has that emotional sweetness where you sniffle and cry at the same time.
Elyse: I’m reading The God of the Woods by Liz Moore ( A | BN | K | AB ) which is a mystery set in 1975 about a girl who goes missing from summer camp. Moore is such a fantastic writer. I’m really enjoying it.
Susan: I finished the first volume of Remnants of Filth, ( A | BN | K | AB ) screamed a little, and immediately ordered the next two, so that’s what I’m up to
Kiki: In the Rec League for emotional competence Karin suggested After the Scandal by Elizabeth Essex ( A | BN ) which I started last night and I’m enthralled. It took everything in my power to put it down to go to sleep at 2 am.
